Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated qualification designed for anyone who may be responsible for providing first aid in the workplace.

The qualification forms part of the QA First Aid suite of qualifications and has been developed in line with recommendations from:

  • The Resuscitation Council (UK)
  • A distinguished panel of experts in emergency medical care

Who is the qualification for?

This qualification is ideal for individuals who are required to provide first aid in the workplace and want to become a Workplace Emergency First Aider in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

The qualification is based on the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) training standard for Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) courses, supporting employers in meeting their workplace first-aid responsibilities.

What will you learn?

The course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond confidently and effectively to a range of emergency first-aid situations.

On successful completion, learners should be able to:

  • Recognise and respond appropriately to a range of emergency situations
  • Provide safe, prompt and effective first aid
  • Demonstrate practical first-aid techniques
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a workplace first aider
  • Respond appropriately while waiting for further medical assistance
